The first step to strengthening and improving home care in this country is giving home care workers a voice on the job.
Home care workers do hard, essential, compassionate work for millions of Americans. In fact, this work is so vital that experts estimate that more home care jobs are being created right now than any other occupation in America.
But we’re not paid enough to provide for our families – the average home care wage is just $9.57 an hour, and the average hourly wages for home care workers have declined by nearly 6 percent since 2004.
To make sure that the 10,000 people who turn 65 every day get the care they need, we need a Care Revolution in America so that everyone that wants care has affordable access to it, and every home care worker earns a fair wage.
Watch the video we made below and help spread the word about the Care Revolution:
No matter who you are or where you’re from, if you work hard, you should be able to make enough to live a good life and provide a better one for your family. That’s the key to creating a long-term care system that works – and that’s why we fight for $15.
